About the Producers:

The Cafeina Women’s Group was founded in 2019 and, as the name suggests, consists exclusively of female coffee farmers (over 1,800), all of whom are part of the larger Cocatrel cooperative in Tres Pontas, Sul de Minas, Brazil. The Cafeina Group was founded to share knowledge and to have a greater collective impact within Cocatrel.

Jairo Arcila is a third-generation coffee farmer. After working for 40 years as the manager of a coffee processing plant in Colombia, he returned to coffee farming on his own farm in 2019. Together with his two sons, he grows not only coffee plants but also mandarins, oranges, bananas, and lulos.
In addition to cultivating rare and unique varieties such as Pink Bourbon, Papayo, Java, and Gesha, the family is experimenting with new processing methods, such as co-fermentation, which was also used for this coffee.
